I had a chance to sit down and interview one of Michigan’s pioneer MMA fighters at the SDAM Academy in Clinton Township last week and let me tell you it was an honor! Brendan Seguin has been around the game for many years now and has fought some of the who’s who in the mixed martial arts world! If you have ever seen Seguin fights its always nonstop action. Win or lose this warrior puts on a show, fighting in top notch promotions nationwide and taking on all comers in the sport. Seguin will fight anyone, anywhere! While sitting down with Seguin, we talked about old fights and upcoming battles. Seguin has been jumping back and forth from the SDAM Academy and Fight Club Proving Ground. I sat in last week and watched him spar and train with upcoming Michigan pro fighter Sean Baker, and KOTC Lightweight World Champion Dominic O’Grady. What a thrilling training session it was for me to witness, these guys got down to business. Speaking of championships, Seguin has racked up a few trophies throughout his career so far. Title Belts are like pictures on grandma’s wall when you see his gold hanging on the gym walls. The following are a list of the titles he has obtained throughout his career thus far: NAAFS welterweight championship, Texas Fighting Championship, TFC Fight Zone championship, XXX extreme Championship, USKBA Championship, Combat Zone Championship. His most recent Title belt was won at Michigan’s premier events Donifrio MMA’s Impact Fight League Title in stellar via ground and pound in the first round with his opponent verbally submitting, due to multiple broken ribs. Seguin is known for his devastating stand up style and his vicious ground and pound! Brendan Seguin is now sporting a 20-16-1 professional record and is not slowing down one bit. Come check out this Michigan monster at an upcoming show near you. Support Michigan’s bad boys, buy a ring side seat to the chaos and watch this home town hero smash his way to the top of the ranks. Fight fans I’m simply trying to tell you if you would like to see Michigan MMA at its best come watch this man leave it all in the cage! Story by Josh Lawrence |
